ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) light source is a low coherence light source that combines the characteristics of high laser intensity and wide LED spectrum. The output stability is higher than that of LD and LED, making them suitable for high-precision measurement applications. Using rare earth fluoride doped fibers, FiberLabs' rich product line of light sources includes 540 nm -, 850 nm -, 1300 nm -, 1480 nm -, SCL band. They are still the best light source in fiber Bragg grating sensors, OCT， Fiber optic gyroscope, gas sensor, fluorescence excitation, and measurement of optical components. The desktop type is easy to use as an independent light source, while the modular type is convenient for integration into devices.

Module type ASE light source has a small volume and is easy to integrate into equipment. The external dimensions vary among different models, and five sizes are available ranging from the smallest MSA to S, M, M2, and L. They all work at 5 VDC and have the same optical properties for the corresponding desktop models.
